Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) lands include more than 46,000 acres of protected open space, from mountain forests and rocky peaks to grasslands, wetlands, creeks, farms and wildlife habitat. More than 155 miles of trails provide opportunities to hike, walk, run, bike, climb, horseback ride, fish and experience nature. These lands are protected not only for recreation, but also for their plants, wildlife, water, agricultural lands, scenic landscapes and other natural and cultural resources.

Whether you're planning a hike, looking for a trail, bringing your dog, heading out on a bike, or simply looking for a place to experience nature, a little planning can help you have a safer and more enjoyable visit.
